We upgraded our Moodle from 2.2.7 to 2.4.1 using GIT. Everything seemed to run smoothly, except for weird problems with our frontpage. The problems are these:
- Frontpage News have dissappeared, there's an empty forum now. The old entries are not gone, as soon as you click the forum, you'll see them, but they are not visible directly on the front page.
- We can't add blocks (although "add block" is visible) nor move blocks to the right side / column.
- Can't move blocks into navigation dock.
- Some menu links are not clickable (such as website administration).
This happens indepenently from the theme chosen - no matter whether we use the standard formal white theme or others. We haven't changed anything about roles, but tried to create and assign the default frontpage user role according to http://docs.moodle.org/22/en/Front_page_settings#Clean_look.2C_topic_checked.2C_no_blocks
This never happened in earlier updates. A clean new install of 2.4 that we tried to locate the problem works nicely. We compared roles etc but didn't find anything obvious.
Ah - and My Moodle as the personal starting page runs oK.
We're somewhat at a loss here - any ideas / hints would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Uwe
