Thank you for responding. I have been informed by my service provider that they have installed the moodledata folder correctly according Moodle's install instructions. It still doesn't appear correct to me basded on your clearly summarized instructions. I think I am goping to have an outsider look at it to confirm correctness. I'm quite glad to admit I am wrong as long as it can be explained to me exactly why I am wrong.
