I desparately want to install Moodle, preferably 2.x, on this old server.
But if I can't to 2.x I am happy to use 1.9. I just want Moodle on this server.
I have tried several versions of installers and end up with a roadblock or two.
I have mysql 5.x already installed. Am using it for other things. it works great.
I have php already installed. I can't remember the version.
When I go to install one of the packages. Moodle4Mac I think.
1) I can't find a way to install the GS package on this server. The links I have found on the web are dead of course, being that this server is so old.
2) Even if I could find the GS Package, I wouldn't know how to install it using Terminal.
3) When I want to install a fresh PHP installation, entropy is no longer there to download the package that does it all for you correctly.
4)If I decide to bypass this stuff, the installer hangs and the installation doesn't complete.
The point is, I want to do this, but a combination of the older server and my being still a bit of a rookie, I can't get this done.
Does anyone have a current step by step installation guide, that I can use on this old server? If so, how do I obtain it.
If I gave a trusted someone access to the server, could I pay you do make this installation right?
Thanks for any help you can offer.
