OK, nobody wants to hear portions of this, others are fine.
- I love Moodle
- I develop most of my courses on the campus Moodle 2.x server
- I have a personal Moodle 1.9 server (because my hosting company does not yet support the required PHP version)
- I also teach courses at other institution that use either Canvas or Blackboard; -- both have the ability to import Moodle 1.9 and/or "Common Cartridge ..." formats
So, even if some functionality had to be stripped out of the downgraded backup file (.zip), it would still be handy to have
