Before updating, I did backup the moodle folder and the moodle database, I didn't back up the moodledata folder.
At the moment the size of the moodledata folder is 2GB. In the folder I have loads of numbered folders plus another 8 foldes (including filedir).
Inside the filedir folder, I again encounter loads of numbered folders with numbered/lettered text letters.
My hosting provider is justhost.com and I think they use Linux servers.
