Linux has a Remote Desktop style service called VNC which will do what you're looking for. There are a few caveats though:
Installing a GUI on a live server generally isn't a great idea. It's not terrible, but obviously running a GUI takes memory and processing time, so it will affect your server a little bit. Also, installing fewer services on live servers is always a good idea. If there's fewer things running, there's less that can be exploited.
Moodle likes being accessed from one URL. If your Moodle is accessible from any other machine, accessing localhost/moodle will just redirect you to the main address.
What's behind this request? What are you trying to do by accessing it at localhost?
