Yes the same steps need to happen but make sure you have a static IP address for the computer/server. Then what is acting as the firewall or router, you need to open up the ports so you can get to the outside IP address. Once the internal IP address is connected to the outside IP address, then you need to set the DNS record to match the external address. Then you will be able to search by a URL.
