Databae Migration tool - "Can not connect target database"

Hi,

I'm using the Moodle Database Migration tool, and I'm getting an error under certain conditions.

After doing some work (creating a few courses, customization) on a Moodle 2.4, we upgraded it to 2.5 successfully. It's database type is MySQL, specifically mysqli. Both the Moodle and MySQL are on the same Windows XP Professional machine.

We want to migrate this Moodle to a different server and database, a Windows Server 2008 R2 webserver and an empty PostgreSQL database server.

When I used the Database Migration/Transfer Tool, I noticed 2 places where there might be problems.

1) Under the Target Database inputs, the "Type*" dropdown is limited to "Improved MySQL (native/mysqli)"

2) After inputting all the correct Target Database information and hitting Transfer Data, I am given the error "Can not connect target database, sorry."

I know the tool works and that the PostgreSQL credentials are correct because I was able to successfully migrate a barebones test Moodle (created on the Server 2008 r2) PostgreSQL database to the empty PostgreSQL database. In that scenario, I was limited to the Type option "PostgreSQL (native/pgsql)".

There is very little documentation or forum posts on the Database Migration tool, so I would appreciate if any light can be shed on what might be going wrong?

Thank you,

Patrick
