Hi Michael
On the original topic, Migration-Upgrade: I'm glad that my "work flow" convinced you. Two words of caution though:
- Those four steps were meant as an example, as indicated. The exact path from 1.x to 2.y keeps on changing. Read for example "Moodle documentation: Continuing on Upgrade docs"https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=197602.
- The transition from version 1 to 2 was such a hiatus that some have chosen a "manual" approach: create the target site first as a fresh installation and transfer course by course through export/import. Tedious and no users data migrated but much safer.
I hope somebody who is more familiar with the Moodle plug-ins would answer your new questions.
BTW, could you introduce the person who installed 300+ plug-ins?
;-(
