I am running Moodle 2.5.1+ on a hosted linux server at FreeOla. The support guys there have been very helpful in providing the resources that Moodle needs, including temporarily changing php.ini to give enough time for installation.
In order to provide the php intl extension they have this morning upgraded my account to PHP 5.4.19.
I now get a notification:
Your version of the iconv library does not support the //IGNORE modifier. You should install the mbstring extension which can be used instead for cleaning strings containing invalid UTF-8 characters.
My account includes iconv 2.12 .
Is there a newer version that my account needs?
