Wow! That's an old version of RHEL ... and on i686?!!! Might need to run yum update cause RHEL vr 5 is at 5.10 now - which includes higher versions of PHP and MySQL. Kinda risky to let entitlements slide. Does Softlayer offer an upgrade to the OS? Rackspace provides RHEL 6.5 (64bit version). IF DB server to be on the same box, x86_64 (64bit) OS would be best for better performance - especially if the Moodle site is to be of any 'signficant' size.
