installation error of 2.6.1+

I am trying to install moodle 2.6.1+ and after I choose the admin's details and press continue the new page ( localhost/moodle/user/editadvanced.php) is totaly white (blank). If I press refresh it appears the profile data of admin bue as soon as I click on home or type localhost/moodle it prints that this page can not be displayed. In general, it looks like to me that the whole installation does not finish. I am using Windows XP SP3, Xamp 1.8.1 which includes PHP 5.3.8, mySQL 5.0.8.

I would appreciate if you could help me.

P.S.: I tried 2.6.1 version but still the same!!
