That looks ok to me ... but then again, don't host on Damedhost (oh, excuse me, Dreamhost).
Did see in the wiki link reference posted earlier something about PHP ... and php extensions. Did you follow that up? From what I re-call about it, if you desire to run Moodle 2.x, then one must run PHP 5.3 with the extensions that Moodle requires. That wiki mentioned how to do that on DreamHost.
Since you have ssh access ... what does php -m look like?
Install a phpinfo.php file at the root of that subdomain and see if one can hit that phpinfo.php file with a browser.
