The gravy thickens....
There are two lists to select a course. One is at "Home" the other is at Home--> Courses.
The cursor fails at the Home location for the list of courses but works on the Home --> Courses location for the same list of courses.
Unfortunately, I cannot generate a screen capture the shows the cursor to prove this.
