Hi all,
I'm wondering if anybody has experienced this error and can help me. I'm new to virtual private server installations so excuse me if I don't explain it too well. I'v tried to install 2.7 on my godaddy VPS account. all is well until I get to the installation page which asks for 'Database settings'. I have created a MySQL database on my VPS. When I proceed by pressing the next button I get the message:
Error: database driver problem detected
The site administrator should verify server configuration
PHP has not been properly configured with the MySQLi extension so that it can communicate with MySQL. Please check your php.ini file or recompile PHP. MySQLi extension is not available for PHP 4.
I have done an 'EasyApache' update on my server to make sure I'm running PHP 5.4 but no matter what I do on the server the install error still comes up and I can't get past this page.
Godaddy are absolutely useless and I have given up on them.
Any lay-person's explanation or ideas on this error would be really appreciated,
Thanks, Terry
