Hello!
I'm trying to piece together what happened but I'm unsure exactly. I'm going to take a guess as to what MIGHT have happened and ask for your help in fixing it.
A couple months ago I upgraded my Simple Machines Forum on my website. I run it separately from my Moodle. Both have their own folders on the server.
About two weeks ago I started getting a few emails from course users saying they couldn't access the Moodle. I checked into it and sure enough, trying to load the link just gave me some .php error. My server host looked into it, but since their backups only went back a few weeks, they weren't able to find the issue.
I THINK what might have happened is somehow the upgrade for the SMF also affected Moodle. How or why? I don't know. I do know that the upgrade files were somehow in the Moodle directory. Brain fart on my part? I don't know. But the forum works fine, so that has me perplexed.
Anyways, I downloaded the latest version of Moodle and tried to put it in the Moodle directory. Website now loads. Problem is, since I'm the admin, it wants me to complete the upgrade. However, plugins are missing. I cannot load the moodle to fix that. I don't remember the exact version of the previous Moodle I had on the server.
Your help -
Is it possible to somehow simply upload the version that matches the original (how can I find out what version)? Or should I simply flush it all out and start with a clean install? I'd prefer not to flush it as I have thousands of people who have registered on my website -- www.ASLwithRobNielson.com
Your suggestions on how to fix it?
Thanks so much!
