Re: Can't open install.php or index.php

by Ray Hagan.

I'm getting these same errors, with Moodle 2.8 (just downloaded from the Moodle site.) My host is using PHP Server version: 5.5.32-31.0-log - Percona Server (GPL), Release rel31.0, Revision 549.

This is my second day trying to install Moodle on my web host.

I started editing the PHP files to clear the errors until I got the following:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_ARRAY, expecting '&' or T_VARIABLE in /home/opstrn/public_html/OTNet/lib/setuplib.php on line 1020

It looks as though the arrays "array" and "variable" have not been previously declared. This is a guess, based upon limited VB experience.

The bottom line is that I would rather not poke around in the code, too far, without some guidance. I'm not afraid to edit, just want to minimize the time I have to spend getting it right.

Thanx for any support.
