Git is purportedly "far more natural than other version control systems" provided you "re-wire your brain if you ever made the mistake of wrapping your brain around less natural version control systems like CVS or SVN" [1]. I would say, Git is so amazing and vicious that it defy the logic of logically thinking people [2].

For the details, my advice is to start with a Git for Beginners tutorial of your choice, but _without_ Github.
