Re: upgrade and migration

Minimally, you need the config.php file in the code directory, the moodle data folder, and an sql dump of the DB.  The config.php file will be edited for new locations, but it contains the unique 'password salt' for accounts in the DB.

Do not install a fresh 2.0.10.  Do GET the 2.0.10 code, however.  Place data folder in a 'correct' location, import the sql to a new DB (character set utf8 and collation utf8_general_ci).  Place a copy of the config.php file in the newly downloaded Moodle code (the 2.0.10).  Edit the config.php file changing variables for the new system.

Check permissions/ownership on all files folders ... code as well as data.

Then hit the site with a browser.  After logging on as an admin level user, it should throw you into the update process.  Some images/links may not work - use admin search and replace.

'spirit of sharing', Ken
