upgrading from 1.9.4 to 1.9.19

I've got two Moodle installations, one I keep to the most recent version, and an old one that kind of got left behind. Looking to upgrade that one. I know that Moodle upgrades are best done incrementally (1.9 to 2.0 to 2.1 etc.), but does that extend to even within specific branches (1.9.4 to 1.9.5 to 1.9.6 etc.), or may I safely upgrade from 1.9.4 to 1.9.19?
