Please include in your post which version of Moodle (e.g. 3.2.1) you are using, and in this case the theme. Also provide as much relevant background information as you can about the versions and configuration of your server OS, PHP, etc.

Admin account "stuck" after clicking "Download" on plugin page.

Currently on moodle 3.4. I clicked from moodle to the plugin page, then searched "turnitin", then clicked on the button to install/take me back to moodle. The first screen back in moodle is a blank white screen. I can't do anything. What is the first step to fixing/undoing this.

I can confirm other staff and students can sign in. If i manually go to /login/index.php, i can sign out, and sign in again, but upon signin I am sent back to a blank screen. :/ 

It appears there is possibly a serious issue with the turnitin plugin. The apache error logs report:

PHP Warning:  require_once(/var/www/html/moodle/mod/turnitintooltwo/lib.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/html/moodle/plagiarism/turnitin/lib.php on line 73, referer: https://learn.planetshakerscollege.com.au/moodle/login/index.php 

Can I safely delete the offending folder, or will I need to unwind some database changes as well?

It is installed on ubuntu 16.04

dedicated server 

Moodle 3.6.2

mysql  5.6.33

i have tried php 7.0 / 7.1 / 7.2

Though it was originally a moodle 3.5.3 installed from an application catalogue and upgraded.

the theme was academi


I suppose it is a trivial matter to start again with a blank 3.6.2 and re-use the same db / config.php ?

Hello.

After trying it on a Windows server (IIS) and having these problems https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=382833
I've moved to a Linux server.
So now I'm working on Moodle 3.6.2+ and I'm using the Clean theme. I've enabled de Debuggin mode
I have been able to solve several of the problems: I can now change the language and the menus are expanded and collapse with no errors. But the same page still appears when entering admin: upgradesettings.php
In the console of the web browser inspector I can see this message: Warn: The moodle-core-notification parent module has been deprecated so I'm wondering if this is related to the problem.

Also, when I go into a course, the default language is changed by the english and the language selector disappear. A pop-up with this message is showed:

Hi,

Thank you for all your time to help me.

Everything is the same, except from the sessioncookieIDS (both different) and the folders. I copy both database and entire folder, use the migration tool for changing urls and they have the same plugins. I even tried without extra plugins, but still the error continues. The error is only this place. I moved the site to a online domain, and here the problem disappears, so I guess it must be on the local server, though it should be the same actually.

Everything works fine online, so i will not search further for the error.

I'd say no ... not trival ... as this is a clue:

The version numbers are exactly the same!!!!  So what is being upgraded?

If you've attempted re-use the same DB from the failed "application catalogue and upgraded" another no-no ... install from whatever provider has for 'easy install/upgrade' (which usually isn't).

If you've not developed much, I'd recommend starting over ... drop database, erase moodle code and moodledata and TIA (try it again).

And ... think, if you are serious about it, get a valid certficate for your domain (https) and get the web service to respond to https:// on port 443 first, **before** installing Moodle (3.6 and higher will complain if site isn't running https://

The error:

But I don't see an 'es_es' listing in the last link.

What directories do you see in your moodledata/lang/ directory? (where the language packs are installed).

Hi Ken
In Site Administration > Languages > Language Packs Moodle says all language packages are updated.
There are to folders on moodledata/lang: es and gl
The package you're referring to would be es

Ok ... don't have the problem with any servers running multiple languages myself ... was going on info provided ... *warning* says: Warn: The moodle-core-notification parent module has been deprecated

If what you say it true that 'es_es' would be a submodule to 'es' then?????

On one of the servers I admin, have es and es_mx ... in es ... no subfolder.

Both of them have a bunch of .php files contained therein and just looking at one for es_mx - filters.php

Hi Ken
I don't understand quite good what you say (my english is not good enough).
I have some information that may be useful: In Moodle version 2.2.4 the spanish language package was Español de España, i.e, es_es but now is Español internacional, i.e. only es
So, I think this problem is caused by passing the parameter es_es instead of es. If I create a new course I don't have that problem, I suppose because the current language is International Spanish (not Spanish from Spain), so the question is: is it possible to change the courses old language values of the courses (es_es) to the new one (es)?

Version 2.2.4 is very old.  You might think about upgrading.

It's been years since I've seen a 2.2.x and so the only thing I can find on language and courses is this:

In the course settings, there is a setting to force the language of that one course.

It seems not to be good as it is different from the current state.

Hi Team,

Iam getting the following message in the server checks.

The opcache.enable i have made changes and again when i reload i get the same screen and the status still in check

for the php_extension fileinfo this is deprecated. Kindly assist.

Moodle is accurate in its server checkup. So, only the php_extension 'fileinfo' is a must. The other two are only recommendations.
