SSO integration

Hi,

Am running Moodle 3.4.1+ on LAMP and wish to utilise a SSO login to our learning platform. Quite new to all of this, so please bear with me glimlach

The SSO service my developer site uses (EvE Online) has ESI based permission scopes. The particular one I wish to implement is 'esi-corporations.read_corporation_membership.v1'.

I generate my two keys and then require a callback URL for Moodle login.

My questions:

What is the callback URL required?

Can I use ESI scopes under Moodle?

Would I set this up within the oAuth plugin for login access?


I appreciate any guidance to place me onto the right track glimlach

Hello,


after succsessed installation of moodle i get this error.

The Server is an IIS on an Windows Server 2016.

I have set the PHP-version to 7.1.7.

I dont know how to fix it.

installing moodle 3.4.1

Hi, Im trying to install moodle 3.4.1 on shared host and i got error (attached image).
I have tried to change variables in phpmyadmin but i got:Access denied; you need (at least one of) the SUPER privilege(s) for this operation
Even changing my.cnf got permission denied.

It is an unmanaged server so I am on my own. Log files would be useful but I can't find anything useful in /var/log.

@Emma,

Ah yes. Thanks for the tip. I installed the plugin. I can find it in Dashboard / ► Site administration / ► Plugins / ► Blocks / ► Admin presets. 

But I was unable to understand how to add an addin presets block to the front page using the approach you described here https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=346253

At the Dashboard I enabled Customize this page. When I navigate to Dashboard / ► Site administration / ► Front page the Add a block picklist  does not include an entry that I recognize as addin presets.

The docs page for 3.4 says 8000 for opcache.max_accelerated_files so that sounds right to me.

Cached scripts under the Zend OPcache heading in PHP info is the number of cached PHP scripts for all sites, so this number should be in the thousands, a value of 1 sounds like something is not quite right.

In terms of tuning these values for multiple sites you need to watch the Cache hits and Cache misses. Hits should be a lot larger than misses (say 10×). If it's not you can check Free memory to see if this has all been used and increase opcache.memory_consumption as needed. But each server will be different depending on the individual sites and increasing this too much may reduce memory for other services on the server.

We can maybe break this out into a separate forum thread if there's more info required.

You'll need to delete ("drop") the Moodle database that has been created. As a precaution you may want to back the database up first even though it should be empty.

You then need to create your Moodle database using phpMyAdmin selecting the collation utf8_unicode_ci when you do.

Then when you run through the install process again these messages should change to amber "potential problems" allowing you to continue with the install.

Ideally you should change the settings as you have tried to do but since you are on a shared host it sounds like you do not have permission. Amongst other things, this means users will not be able to use emojis on your site.

Does that mean there's nothing in the error log or you haven't found or enabled the error log? The former, ok. The latter, get it done knipoog

Also, if everything was correct then it would have installed fine. It's (excuse stating the blindingly obvious) a matter of finding what isn't correct.

Don't be disheartened - these things are susceptible to logical analysis. Just a matter of eliminating possibilities.

It's happening to me too... but I dont have that plugin so it's likely to be another issue

Could you say me how you figured out what plugin was the cause? and how did you solve it?

Okay Leon, now I know where I got the 8000.

Here is a screenshot of exactly what php info shows for my Opcache.  I am running my moodle on a VPS, so maybe that is why some of my opcache information might look strange.  I am far from an experienced server administrator, so I am still learning.

when i installed wiziq plugin for version 2.9 , everything start working perfect

I still can't get this to work.  I have configured php to work and this will send emails from my server so php is able to send emails.
echo "This is the body of the email" | mail -s "This is the subject line" your_email_address
 I have been testing by asking for a password reset but I get an error/moodle/cannotmailconfirm message. I have tried setting the smtp config to blank defaults, to a gmail address and a sendgrid address. No emails are sent.

If myserver can send emails where is the problem?
