Re: New Migration

This was a migration from one server to another. My webmaster is actually doing the test migration with me checking his progress. He forgot to do this:

Change your Moodle URL. If you have a new URL, you'll need to change this in the Moodle database to the new server. This is needed as links to pictures, files, etc are stored as absolute links and will reference the old

$CFG->wwwroot
value. So when loading a mysql backup dump of the Moodle server into mysql on another server the absolute referenced links will be broken.

He went back and did it but the links are still broken. This was once a 1.9 version but that was over a year ago, I mention it because of legacy files. We started with 2.2.5 with this current migration. Everything is there, all the courses, all the student data, the certificates and when they were issued. It's just that the links are broken. I'm sure I could re-upload everything and it would work. As for the certificate, we did install the new one for 2.6 but you can't view them even though it's there. Something is broken with the code maybe. I haven't really played with the certificate yet because of this linking problem which might be affecting the certificates displaying as well. If we can get the linking working, then I'll tackle the Certificate.

We have not checked an apache error log on the test site. At the moment we are trying to duplicate the migration to the actual new site and check to see that everything is working at that point before upgrading, but last I heard he was having some trouble with uploading the moodledata zip folder to cpanel.

Thanks for your help, we'll keep trying.
